All on 4 gives you a full arch of fixed teeth supported by four dental implants. It is an option for people with failing teeth or a loose denture who want teeth that stay in place and are not removed at night. At St Vincent Smile in Finnieston, All on 4 treatment is planned and carried out on site.
Who carries out your treatment
Your All on 4 treatment is led by Dr Davinder Kalsi BDS BEng MSc (Dental Implants). Dr Kalsi trained in engineering before dentistry and holds a master’s degree in dental implantology. You see the same clinician from your first consultation to the day your final teeth are fitted.
Temporary teeth and your final bridge
Where the implants are stable enough, a fixed temporary bridge is usually fitted on the day of surgery or within a few days, so you do not leave without teeth. These first teeth are provisional. Once the implants have healed, usually after three to six months, your final, stronger bridge is designed and fitted. If immediate teeth are not appropriate for you, we will agree an alternative plan.
Planning with a 3D CT scan
Every case is planned on our on-site CT scanner, which shows the height, width and density of your bone and the position of nerves and sinuses. Implants are placed using MegaGen R2 guided surgery with MegaGen AnyRidge implants, which hold the CleanImplant Trusted Quality seal.
Alternatives to All on 4
All on 4 is not the right choice for everyone. Depending on your gums, bone and the teeth you still have, individual implants, an implant bridge, an implant-retained denture or a conventional denture may suit you better. We explain the pros and cons of each at your consultation.
Risks
Like any surgery, implant treatment carries risks, including swelling, bruising, infection and, occasionally, an implant that does not bond with the bone and needs replacing. Smoking, diabetes that is not well controlled and gum disease increase these risks. We go through your own risks before you decide.
Looking after your new teeth
Your fixed teeth need daily cleaning, including under the bridge, plus regular hygiene visits and implant reviews. Like natural teeth, the bridge may need repairs or replacement over time through normal wear.
Cost
All on 4 starts from £12,500 per arch. A CT scan is £160 and IV sedation, if you would like it, is £500 per session. Your final cost depends on your case, and you receive a written, fixed quotation before any treatment starts. Finance is available, subject to status.
