Dental Implants in Glasgow, Planned and Placed by the Experts
A dental implant is a small titanium fixture that replaces the root of a missing tooth. Once it has bonded with the jawbone, a natural-looking crown, bridge or full arch of teeth is fixed on top. Nothing comes out at night, nothing moves when you eat or speak, and the teeth either side are left untouched.
Every case at St Vincent Smile is planned on a 3D CT scan taken on site, so you know exactly what is involved before you decide. A single implant and crown starts from £2,775, excluding any bone grafting, and full-arch All-on-4 treatment starts from £12,500 per arch. We use MegaGen AnyRidge implants, awarded the CleanImplant Trusted Quality seal, with a 5-year guarantee for non-smokers.
Implants may be right for you if you want to:
Replace a single missing tooth without filing down the teeth either side
Replace several missing teeth with a fixed bridge on two implants
Swap a loose denture or failing teeth for a fixed full arch of teeth on four to six implants
Protect your jawbone from shrinking where teeth have been lost
Eat, speak and smile with teeth that feel and function like your own

Your guide to dental implants in Glasgow
A dental implant is the closest thing to a natural tooth that dentistry can offer. A small titanium fixture is placed in the jawbone, the bone bonds to it, and a crown, bridge or full arch of teeth is fixed on top. Implants do not rely on neighbouring teeth for support, they do not move when you eat or speak, and with good care they can last for many years. At St Vincent Smile in Finnieston we plan and place implants on site, from a single missing tooth to a complete set of fixed teeth.
Who places your implants
Implant treatment at St Vincent Smile is led by Dr Davinder Kalsi BDS (Aberdeen) BEng MSc (Dental Implants). Dr Kalsi trained in engineering before dentistry and holds a master’s degree in dental implantology, so every case is planned with the same attention to precision you would expect from an engineer. You will see the same clinician from your first consultation to the day your new teeth are fitted.
Single tooth implants
If you have lost one tooth to decay, a crack or an accident, a single implant with a porcelain crown replaces it without filing down the teeth on either side, as a traditional bridge would. The crown is shade-matched to your own teeth so it blends in. Single implants are also the best way to stop the bone shrinking where a tooth used to be, which keeps your gum line and face shape stable over time.
Several missing teeth
Where two or more teeth are missing next to each other, two implants can often support a bridge of three or four teeth. This means fewer implants, a shorter procedure and a lower cost than replacing every tooth individually, while still giving you fixed teeth that you brush and floss like your own.
Full arch implants: All-on-4 and All-on-6
If you wear a denture, or your remaining teeth are failing, a full arch of fixed teeth can be supported on four to six implants. With All-on-4 and All-on-6 treatment, a full set of teeth is fixed in place and is not removed at night. In many cases a fixed temporary set can be fitted on the same day as surgery, so you do not leave without teeth. The final arch is made once the implants have fully healed. Full arch treatment is planned individually, so we give you a written, fixed price after your CT scan and consultation. Full-arch All-on-4 treatment starts from £12,500 per arch.
Digital planning: CT scan and guided surgery
Every implant case is planned using our on-site CT scanner and iTero Lumina intraoral scanner. The 3D scan shows the exact height, width and density of your bone and the position of nerves and sinuses. We then plan the ideal implant position on screen and use MegaGen R2 guided surgery, in which a custom surgical guide places each implant exactly where it was planned. Guided surgery means smaller incisions, shorter appointments and more predictable results, and because the scanner is in the practice there is no need to travel elsewhere for imaging.
The implants we use
We use MegaGen AnyRidge implants. The AnyRidge implant holds the CleanImplant Trusted Quality seal, awarded to implants that pass independent tests for surface cleanliness and manufacturing quality. Choosing a well-documented implant system matters: it means proven long-term research, precise components and parts that will still be available if you need maintenance in years to come.
What happens, step by step
Free consultation: we listen to what you want, examine your mouth and explain your options. Consultations are free, with a small refundable deposit to secure the appointment.
CT scan and digital plan: we scan your jaw and teeth, plan the implant positions and give you a written treatment plan and fixed price.
Implant placement: most single implants are placed under local anaesthetic in around an hour. If you are nervous, tell us and we will plan ways to make you comfortable.
Healing: the bone bonds to the implant over roughly three to six months. You will have a temporary tooth or bridge where needed, so you are never left with a gap.
Your new teeth: the final crown, bridge or arch is designed digitally, made to match your smile and fitted.
Review and maintenance: regular check-ups and hygiene visits keep your implants and gums healthy for the long term.
Is it painful?
Implant placement is carried out with the area fully numbed, and most patients tell us it was easier than they expected, often more comfortable than having a tooth taken out. Mild tenderness and swelling for a few days afterwards is normal and is usually managed with everyday painkillers. If you are anxious, let us know at your consultation and we will talk you through how we can help.
Your 5-year implant guarantee
Implant treatment at St Vincent Smile comes with a 5-year guarantee, provided you attend your recommended check-ups and hygiene appointments. The guarantee does not apply to smokers, because smoking significantly increases the risk of implant failure. If you smoke, we will talk you through how stopping improves your chances of success.
Cost and finance
A single implant and crown starts from £2,775, excluding any bone grafting, and full-arch All-on-4 treatment starts from £12,500 per arch. Finance is available, subject to status. Bridges are priced individually after your CT scan, and you will always receive a written, fixed quotation before any treatment starts. Your consultation is free, so you can find out exactly what is involved and what it will cost without any commitment.
Implant, Bridge or Denture?
All three replace missing teeth. They differ in what they do to the teeth either side, to your jawbone and to your day.
Dental implant
Teeth either side are left untouched. The implant helps preserve your jawbone. You brush and floss it like a natural tooth, and it often lasts decades with good care, though the crown may need replacing in time. From £2,775 including the crown.
Bridge
The teeth either side are filed down to carry crowns, and the bone under the gap shrinks over time. You clean under it with floss threaders, and a bridge typically lasts 10 to 15 years. From £695 per unit.
Denture
Clasps rest on the neighbouring teeth, and the jawbone shrinks over time. Dentures come out at night, some people need adhesive, and they usually need relining or replacing every 5 to 10 years. From £565.

Dental implants: frequently asked questions
Am I suitable for dental implants?
Most adults who have lost one or more teeth are suitable. What matters is the health of your gums and the amount of bone available, which we check with a CT scan. If bone is limited, guided surgery and careful planning often still make implants possible.
How long do dental implants last?
With good home care and regular check-ups, implants can last for many years and often for life. The crown on top may need replacing in the long term through normal wear, much like a natural tooth.
How long does treatment take?
A single implant usually takes three to six months from placement to the final crown, to allow the bone to heal. Full arch patients can often have fixed temporary teeth on the day of surgery.
Can I have implants if I wear dentures?
Yes. Many denture wearers move to an implant-supported full arch, which is fixed in place and does not need adhesive or to be removed at night.
How much do dental implants cost in Glasgow?
At St Vincent Smile a single implant and crown starts from £2,775, excluding any bone grafting, and full-arch All-on-4 treatment starts from £12,500 per arch. Multiple implants are quoted individually after a free consultation and CT scan. Finance is available, subject to status.
