Second Opinions, Glasgow: A Second Opinion on Any Plan or Quote

A second opinion is free here. Bring the plan, the quote, the X-rays or just your own teeth, and a dentist will tell you honestly what they'd do, what it would cost, and whether you need to do anything at all.

Free, with a £40 deposit refunded within 7 days of attending. A CT scan, if one is needed to answer the question, is £160. No obligation, and no pressure to switch dentist.

What People Bring Us

Most second opinions fall into one of these.

A Treatment Plan or Quote

An implant, veneer, Invisalign or full-arch plan from another practice, and the question of whether it's the right treatment at the right price.

Told You Can't Have Implants

Not enough bone, gum disease, diabetes, age. Several of those can be planned around; a CT scan on our own scanner shows what's really there.

Treatment Abroad

Crowns, veneers or implants done overseas that are painful, loose, or didn't turn out as promised. We assess what's there and what can be salvaged.

Work That Hasn't Settled

A crown that never felt right, bonding that keeps chipping, an implant that's sore. Sometimes a small fix; sometimes a bigger conversation.

A Diagnosis You'd Like Checked

Told you need a root canal, an extraction or gum surgery and want to be sure before you go ahead.

Cosmetic Plans

Asked for veneers and want to know whether bonding, whitening or Invisalign would do the same job with less tooth involved.

Worth Bringing

None of it is essential. All of it helps us give you a straight answer.

The written plan or quote, so we can compare like with like
Any X-rays, scans or photographs; most practices will send them to you on request, and you're entitled to copies
The name of the implant system, if implants are involved
Paperwork from treatment abroad, including the clinic's name and what was fitted
A list of your medicines
Your questions, written down

What Happens

1

A Conversation

What you've been told, what you're unsure about, and what you'd like the outcome to be.

2

An Examination

Your teeth, gums and bite, with photographs, X-rays where needed, and a CT scan if the question is about implants or bone (£160).

3

A Straight Answer

Whether we agree with the plan, what we'd do differently and why, and what we'd charge. If the other plan is sound, we'll say so.

4

A Written Plan, If You Want One

The options, the fee for each and the timeline, yours to take home. There's no obligation and no pressure to decide on the day.

How We Give It

A second opinion is only useful if it's honest, so there are rules. We don't criticise another dentist's work to win a patient; we tell you what we see and what we'd do. If the right answer is to go back to the practice that started the treatment, we'll say that. If the right answer is to do nothing for now, we'll say that too.

Where treatment is needed, the person who gives the opinion is the person who'd treat you: Dr Davinder Kalsi for implants, oral surgery, Invisalign and cosmetic dentistry, Dr Umer Hameed for composite bonding, Invisalign, veneers and smile makeovers. Every fee is published on our price list, so you can compare it with any quote.
