Q: Is the online smile assessment free?

Yes. Send two or three photos on WhatsApp with a line about what bothers you, and a dentist replies with what they'd suggest and a likely price range from our published fees. There's no charge and no obligation. If you'd like to go further, the consultation is free too, with a £40 deposit refunded when you attend.

Q: How quickly will I hear back?

Usually the same working day. Messages sent in the evening or at the weekend are picked up when we open; for a dental emergency, call 0141 248 1183 rather than messaging.

Q: Can I get an exact price from a photo?

A range, yes; a fixed fee, no. From a photo a dentist can usually say which treatment would suit and what it costs from our price list, such as four teeth of bonding at £1,550. The exact fee is confirmed in writing after an examination, and for implants and Invisalign after a scan.

Q: What if I'd rather not use WhatsApp?

Request a call back through the website and someone from the team will phone you at a time you choose, or book a free consultation online and bring your questions. You can also email photos to info@stvincentsmile.co.uk.

In natural daylight, no flash: one straight on with a natural smile, one with your lips pulled back so we can see the teeth and gums, and one from the side. A friend holding the phone is easier than a selfie.

Chips, gaps, colour, crowding, a missing tooth, a loose denture, pain. Tell us what you'd like to be different and whether you're nervous about treatment.

A Dentist Replies

What they'd suggest, the options, a likely price range from our published fees, and whether you'd need an examination or a scan first. Then, if you want to go further, a free consultation with a £40 deposit refunded when you attend.

What We Can Tell You From a Photo

Whether chips, gaps and uneven edges look like a job for composite bonding, and roughly how many teeth

Whether crowding or spacing looks like an Invisalign case, and which package it's likely to fall in

Whether whitening alone would get you the colour you want, or veneers are the better route

What replacing a missing tooth might involve: implant, bridge or denture

Whether a loose denture could be held by implants

What We Can't

Diagnose pain, decay or gum disease: those need an examination and usually an X-ray

Give a fixed fee: that comes in writing after we've examined you and, for implants and Invisalign, scanned you

Say an implant is possible without a CT scan of the bone

Replace an emergency appointment: if you're in pain, call us and we'll see you the same day
