Q: How much do same day teeth cost in Glasgow?

At St Vincent Smile, same day teeth are £13,500 per arch on the Same-Day Fixed Teeth pathway, or £14,950 per arch on Premium Guided Zirconia, which adds a custom surgical guide and zirconia final teeth. The fee covers the CBCT scan, 3D planning, extractions, four to six implants, the temporary bridge, the final bridge and your reviews. Sedation, sinus procedures and larger bone grafts are the extras your written plan would show.

Q: Is All-on-4 the same as teeth in a day?

Mostly, yes: both describe a full arch of fixed teeth on four to six implants, and people use the names for the same treatment. Strictly, All-on-4 describes how the bridge is held, on four implants with the back two angled, while teeth in a day describes when you get fixed teeth, which here is on our Same-Day and Premium pathways. On those two, four implants or six costs the same.

Q: Do I need a bone graft for same day teeth?

Often not. Angling the back implants uses the bone that's already there, which is one reason same day teeth are possible for many people who've been told they don't have enough bone. Routine grafting at the extraction sites is part of the pathway fee where it's clinically needed; larger bone augmentation or a sinus procedure is quoted separately in your written plan.

Q: What can I eat after same day teeth?

Soft food for about three months while the implants bond with the bone: soup, eggs, fish, pasta, mashed vegetables and anything you can cut with the side of a fork. Avoid biting into hard or chewy food with the front teeth, such as crusty bread, apples or steak. Once your final bridge is fitted, most people eat normally again.

Q: Are same day teeth permanent?

The teeth fitted on the day are fixed, so they don't come out at night, but they're a temporary bridge. About three months later, once the implants have bonded with the bone, they're replaced with your final bridge, made from a digital scan: acrylic / PMMA on the Same-Day pathway, or zirconia on a titanium bar on Premium Guided Zirconia.

Q: How long does same day teeth surgery take?

Plan for most of the day. The extractions and implants come first, under local anaesthetic with IV sedation if you choose it, and the fixed temporary bridge is fitted to the implants before you leave. If you've had sedation, you'll need an adult to take you home.

Q: Who are same day teeth not suitable for?

They may not suit you if gum disease or diabetes isn't under control, if you smoke heavily, or if the implants can't be held firmly enough on the day to carry a fixed bridge. In those cases a staged approach, with an immediate denture while you heal, is usually safer, and your consultation explains which pathway fits.

What Same Day Teeth Means

Fast and fixed, but planned like any other full arch: on your CT scan, weeks before the day.

Any teeth that can't be saved are taken out, four to six implants are placed in the same visit, and a temporary bridge of acrylic teeth is screwed to them. It's fixed, so it doesn't come out at night and only we remove it. You never leave without teeth. That's why same day dental implants are also sold as fixed teeth in a day.

The temporary bridge carries you through healing. About three months later, once the implants have bonded with the bone, it's replaced by your final bridge, made from a digital scan. On Premium Guided Zirconia, the final teeth are zirconia on a titanium bar.

Whether the bridge can go in on the day depends on how firmly the implants hold once they're placed. It's possible in most cases where the bone allows, but nobody can promise it before the implants are in, so your written plan explains the alternative beforehand. If it isn't possible, you wear a temporary denture while you heal and your pathway fee stays the same.¹

Sedation, If You'd Like It
