Smile Makeover Costs

How a makeover is priced from its parts, example combinations with fees, what pushes the cost up or down, why the order matters, and how the trial smile lets you see it first.

The short answer

How Much Does a Smile Makeover Cost?

A smile makeover at St Vincent Smile in Finnieston, Glasgow, is priced from the treatments it combines, so there's no single fee. Common combinations run from £2,350 for whitening and six teeth of composite bonding, to £6,100 for Invisalign Lite followed by bonding, and from £9,310 for aligners followed by eight porcelain veneers. Your digital smile design and trial smile are included in the treatment fee, and your fixed fee is confirmed in writing before anything starts. Finance is available on treatment of £1,500 or more.

What's a Smile Makeover?

A smile makeover is a plan that combines treatments, in the right order, to change how your smile looks. It's for when more than one thing bothers you: crooked and discoloured teeth, worn or chipped edges, gaps, old fillings or crowns that don't match, or missing teeth. Rather than fixing each problem separately, we plan the whole result first.

It's designed digitally on photographs of your own face, so the proportions suit you rather than a template, then previewed with a trial smile in your mouth before anything permanent is done. Cosmetic treatment, including any implants, is with Dr Davinder Kalsi, whose special interests include smile makeovers, porcelain veneers, digital smile design and Invisalign; composite bonding is also provided by Dr Umer Hameed. Because the plan is made of parts, the price is too, which is what the rest of this guide explains.

How Is It Priced?

A makeover doesn't have its own fee. It's the sum of the treatments in your plan, taken from our price list:2

Building blockFee
Home whitening£350, included in every bonding and Invisalign package
Composite bonding or composite veneer, per tooth£395
Bonding packages: 4, 6, 8 or 10 teeth, whitening included£1,550, £2,350, £3,150, £3,950
Porcelain veneer, per tooth, from£695
Invisalign, Lite to Comprehensive Plus£3,750 to £5,250
Single implant and crown, from£2,775
Smile design and trial smileIncluded in your treatment fee

Two things keep the total down. Whitening is built into every bonding package of four teeth or more and every Invisalign package, so it's rarely a separate line. And your smile design and trial smile, which would otherwise be from £250 and £250, are included once you go ahead with treatment.

Every Invisalign and bonding package includes whitening. Fees are from our 2026 price list and are guide figures: porcelain veneer and implant fees are "from", and the Invisalign package depends on how far your teeth need to move.2 A CT scan (£160) is added where implants are planned. Your own total is fixed in writing after your consultation.

What Affects the Cost?

  • How many teeth are treated. Most smiles involve six to ten teeth, the ones that show when you smile. Bonding and veneers are priced per tooth, so the count matters most.
  • Whether teeth need straightening first. Invisalign adds £3,750 to £5,250, depending on the package, but often means less bonding or thinner veneers later.
  • Composite or porcelain. Composite bonding is £395 per tooth and needs little or no drilling, but typically needs a refresh after three to five years. Porcelain veneers are from £695 per tooth, last longer and resist staining, but usually need a thin layer of enamel removed.
  • Repairs needed first, such as fillings, gum treatment or replacing old crowns, priced from the standard fee list.
  • Missing teeth. Implants are planned from the start so the finished smile is complete.
  • Gum contouring, to even out an uneven gum line, where it's part of the design.

Why Does the Order Matter?

Straighten, then whiten, then shape. Straightening first means the teeth are in the right place before anything is added to them, so bonding or veneers can be thinner, or may not be needed at all. That's less of your own tooth changed and usually less to pay. Whitening comes next, because bonding and veneers are made to match the colour of your teeth and won't change shade later: whiten after bonding and the bonding stays the old colour.

Planning the whole result first also avoids paying twice. A veneer made before straightening may need remaking once the teeth move; bonding matched to unwhitened teeth may need redoing once you whiten. One design, one sequence, one fee, confirmed before you start. Our guide to whitening before bonding goes into the colour-matching side in more detail.

Trial Smile: See It First

Your smile design consultation takes about ninety minutes. We take photographs, a short video and a 3D scan of your teeth with the iTero Lumina scanner, with no putty, then design the new smile digitally on your own face. Next comes the trial smile: a temporary mock-up placed over your teeth, which you can look at, talk with and photograph. If the teeth look too long, too white or too even, we change the design, not your teeth.

You leave with a written plan showing the sequence, the timing and your fixed fee, and there's no obligation to go ahead. The consultation is free with a £40 deposit, refunded within 7 days of attending. Please give us at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or move your appointment. The deposit isn't refunded if you don't attend. Our trial smile guide explains what it can and can't show.

Spreading the Cost

Most makeovers cost more than £1,500, so finance through Chrysalis Finance is available, subject to status: 0% interest over 6 or 12 months, so you pay only the price of the treatment, or a longer term of up to 60 months with interest for a lower monthly payment. A deposit is optional, up to half the cost, and you apply online once your written plan is agreed. See our finance guide for worked monthly examples.

You can also do it in stages. Many people straighten or whiten first and come back for bonding or veneers later, which spreads the cost without borrowing, as long as each stage follows the same design. Dental plan members get 10% off whitening on its own, but bonding, veneers, Invisalign and implants are excluded from plan discounts.

Questions

Is the smile design included?Yes. Your smile design and trial smile, listed on our fees page from £250 and £250, are included in your treatment fee once you go ahead. The consultation itself is free, with a £40 deposit refunded within 7 days of attending.
Can I do it in stages?Yes. Many people straighten or whiten first, then do the rest later. The important thing is that every stage follows the same design and the same order, straighten, whiten, then shape, so nothing has to be redone. Your written plan sets out the sequence.
Is finance available for a smile makeover?Yes. A makeover plan of £1,500 or more can be paid through Chrysalis Finance, subject to status: 0% over 6 or 12 months, or a longer term with interest. A deposit of up to half the cost is optional, and you apply online once your plan is agreed.
Who carries out smile makeover treatment?Dr Davinder Kalsi plans the makeover and does the cosmetic work, and places any implants himself; his special interests include smile makeovers, porcelain veneers, digital smile design and Invisalign. Where implants are part of the plan, they're placed by Dr Davinder Kalsi, whose special interest is dental implants and oral surgery.
Do I have to whiten first? If you want whiter teeth, yes, because composite and porcelain are made to match your teeth and can't be whitened afterwards. If you're happy with your natural shade, we match the bonding or veneers to it. Whitening is included in bonding and Invisalign packages either way.
