Inside the Invisalign Fee
Dr Davinder Kalsi explains what an Invisalign fee at our Finnieston practice pays for: the supervision behind it, both arches and both retainers, how your package is set, and how the cost can be spread.
What Does Invisalign Cost in Glasgow, and What's Included at St Vincent Smile?
At St Vincent Smile, all four Invisalign packages treat both arches, and the fees run from £3,750 (Lite) through £4,250 and £4,750 to £5,250 (Comprehensive Plus). Dr Davinder Kalsi or Dr Umer Hameed sets your package at a free consultation in Finnieston, and the fee then covers scans and X-rays, every aligner and any refinements, Vivera retainers plus a fixed retainer, whitening and a hygiene visit. If you would rather not pay in one go, Chrysalis Finance can split any package into monthly payments, with interest-free terms available, subject to status.
Why the Fee Includes a Dentist
Invisalign from a practice costs more than aligners posted to your door, and it is fair to ask what the difference buys. Mostly, it is supervision. Before anything is ordered, a dentist examines and X-rays your mouth, so that decay or gum disease can be dealt with first. Attachments are bonded on where a tooth needs extra purchase. Then, across a course of 6 to 18 months in most cases, you return to Finnieston at intervals of 6 to 8 weeks for each tooth's progress to be checked in the chair. Our guide to at-home aligners sets the two routes side by side.
The fee also buys experience. Diamond Apex, the top tier among Invisalign providers, has been awarded to the practice in each year from 2022 to 2026. It is based on the number of Invisalign treatments provided, which places us within the top 1% in Europe, and it reflects that volume rather than any specialist qualification.
Both Arches, Two Kinds of Retainer
Two details set our packages apart from many quotes. Every package treats the upper and lower teeth together, so none of the four fees is a one-arch figure. And the retainers come in two forms: a set of Vivera retainers, plus a fixed retainer bonded behind the front teeth.
Alongside those, each fee pays for:
- the iTero Lumina scan, the simulation and your X-rays
- every aligner in your package
- refinements, if a tooth or two needs further aligners to reach its planned position
- whitening, normally £350 for a home kit
- a hygiene visit, normally £70
The four fees, and the kinds of teeth that tend to suit each one, are laid out in our Invisalign cost guide.2
See the Plan, Then Decide How to Pay
A free consultation in Finnieston gives you your package, a fixed fee in writing and the finance options for it.
How Your Package Is Decided
You don't pick a package from a menu. At a free consultation, Dr Davinder Kalsi or Dr Umer Hameed checks the health of your teeth and gums, takes a 3D scan on the iTero Lumina and lets you see the planned result simulated on your own face. The distance each tooth has to travel in that plan sets the package, anywhere from Lite at £3,750 to Comprehensive Plus at £5,250.
Booking the consultation means paying a £40 deposit, which comes back to you within a week of the appointment. Please give us at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or move your appointment. The deposit isn't refunded if you don't attend. Anything that needs treating first, such as a filling or gum treatment, is priced at the same visit, and your Invisalign fee is then fixed in a written plan.
Paying Monthly
Each package costs more than the £1,500 at which finance starts, so whichever one your scan points to, Chrysalis Finance can turn it into monthly payments, subject to status. Choose six or twelve months and the instalments add up to the fee and no more. Stretch the term towards 60 months and each payment shrinks, but interest is charged at 14.9% APR representative, so the total rises. You can put money down first if you would like to borrow less, to a maximum of half the fee.
The application is made online after your written plan has been agreed, and treatment begins once the finance is confirmed. For the representative example and some monthly illustrations, see our guide to dental finance.
Retainers in the Years After
The fixed retainer sits behind your front teeth, and most people also wear their Vivera retainers at night for the long term, because teeth can drift back without them. Both come with the package. If the Vivera set is lost or broken later on, a replacement costs £530. Essix clear retainers are cheaper to replace: £214 covers a single arch and £270 the pair.2 Looking after them is covered in our retainer guide.
Questions
This guide is general information, not a diagnosis. A dentist needs to examine you to say what is right for your teeth.
